Gesunde Ernährung steht für viele Menschen ganz oben auf der Prioritätenliste. Ein Beweis dafür: der Bioboom in Österreich. Wichtig für Kinderrezepte ist , dass sie schnell und einfach zubereitet werden und Kinder dabei helfen können.

Wenn ein Baby in eine Familie hinein kommt, braucht die Mutter sich anfangs kaum Gedanken um die Zubereitung Kleinkind-gerechter Speisen machen, da es für eine gewisse Zeit gestillt wird. Irgendwann kommt aber der Zeitpunkt, an dem die Mutter anfängt, zuzufüttern. Dann muss man sich entscheiden: Füttert man mit Fertignahrung aus dem Glas, oder macht man sich die Mühe und kocht selber für das Baby. Für Baby Gerichte gilt vor allem eines: Brei muss es sein. Grießbrei, Kartoffel-Karotten-Stampf und Erbsenpüree sind hier die Klassiker. Etwas ausgefallener sind da schon Rezeptideen mit Titeln wie Dinkel-Kornbrei mit Himbeersaft oder Fenchel-Karotten-Schaum. Bei der Wahl der Zutaten kommt es besonders bei Kindern und Kleinkindern darauf an, dass die verwendeten Zutaten nach Möglichkeit Schad- und Zusatzstofffrei sind. Schließlich will man sein Kind nicht mit unnötigen Stoffen belasten.

Die ausschließliche Ernährung mit Bioprodukten kann sehr ins Geld gehen, gerade bei Familien mit Kindern. Es ist daher nicht verwerflich, wenn man sich bei Standartlebensmitteln auf konventionelle Produkte verlässt und in Prospekten nach Angeboten Ausschau hält, denn so lässt sich bares Geld sparen. Auf die Qualität kommt es an, nicht auf die Höhe des Preises, schließlich können auch günstige Produkte eine gute Qualität haben.
